Unlike many of the broader challenges we face such as inflation, rising expenses, and operational costs, this issue is immediate and practical:

• If the vans don’t have fuel, they don’t move.

• If they don’t move, the bread doesn’t reach people.

Our dedicated volunteers collect fresh surplus bread from local bakeries and deliver it to those in need. We’re a grassroots charity run entirely by volunteers, ordinary people doing something extraordinary by sharing bread.

Every day, our bread reaches 26,500 people. We support the forgotten, the isolated, the vulnerable, the depressed , those who might otherwise go unseen.

WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP

Gift of Bread operates on a tight, efficient budget. But even with passionate volunteers and community support, the scale of need is now overwhelming our resources. In the past 12 months:

• Demand for our services has grown dramatically

• Costs for vehicle leases, registration, insurance, maintenance, fuel, and utilities have surged

• We urgently need to raise $100,000 to continue our work through winter and into the next financial year.
